Hyundai has APEAL!

HYUNDAI RANKED HIGHEST NON-PREMIUM IN J. D. POWER APEAL STUDY

Hyundai cars just keep getting better and better! For the second consecutive year, Hyundai was named one of the top-two non-premium automakers in J.D. Power’s Automotive Performance, Execution, And Layout (APEAL) Study.

2015’s APEAL study saw the gap between premium and non-premium brands narrow, and Hyundai’s continued excellence is a testament to the brand’s dedication to innovation. Mike O’Brien, vice president of corporate and product planning, stated that this year’s APEAL ranking “shows Hyundai takes design, technology, features and performance seriously across the entire lineup.”

2015 SonataThe Sonata, one of Hyundai’s best-selling vehicles, finished second in the midsize car segment by a razor-thin margin of two points, which O’Brien called “a tremendous achievement” which highlights Hyundai’s commitment to “delivering the highest customer experience possible to our owners.”

Hyundai improved its score five points from last year’s showing, keeping pace with non-premium brands, which jumped five points on average from last year’s study. The APEAL study, which celebrated its 20th year in 2015, examines how gratifying a vehicle is to drive; in other words, how much fun it is to drive a Hyundai!

2016 TucsonThis high praise rings especially sweet for Hyundai as it was also just ranked in the top-4 in J.D. Power’s 2015 Initial Quality Study, which rates automakers for the number of issues experienced by drivers in the first 90 days after purchasing a vehicle. The Tucson won the Initial Quality award for the small SUV segment, and the Accent took home top honors in the small car segment for the second year in a row.

While Hyundai joined fellow Korean automaker Kia in the top-four in initial quality, Japanese brands collectively fell below industry standards for the first time in the 29-year history of the study. Similarly, traditional power Toyota joined Fiat as the only two non-premium brands to drop in APEAL from last year’s study, losing two points.

The Sonata, Tucson, and Accent, as well as the rest of Hyundai’s acclaimed lineup, are available in Medford at Butler Hyundai for you to come see. For those who value a car that balances innovation, reliability, and flat-out fun, Hyundai is hard to beat.
